Music at the Songbird is always an experience. During the day the
sounds of familiar songs and fresh inspirations keep you company
while you eat, relax, talk and shop. At night (all summer: Wednesday – Saturday),
the house lights dim, the stage lights rise and you feel the energy
only LIVE MUSIC brings.
OPEN MIC
Most Fridays at 7:00 - check the
events calendar to verify. The Songbird hosts the
best OPEN MIC around. Well attended and always FUN, bring your guitar,
harmonica, flute or _________(you fill in the blank) and experience
the stage, the lights, the “magic” of a listening audience.
WOW this is FUN! If you’re not a performer this is still a
great way to spend an evening – come, listen, sing along, laugh – you’ll
be glad you came.
OPEN MIC Performers: Sign-up anytime after 6:30. Performance is
in order of sign-up with each performer doing 2 songs. If time allows
there may be a second round for you to do additional songs. Poetry
is good too. Bring your talent and come ready. We provide microphones
(for voice and instrument)and ¼” plug-ins for instruments.
If you do OPEN MIC’s – you’re going to LOVE this
one. A great sound system, a real stage and theatrical lighting PLUS
a LISTENING AUDIENCE – a performers dream! (no CD or tape accompaniment
please – we like it LIVE)

John Mills
Spend
much time at the Songbird and there is a good chance you will hear
John’s music. Hey, he designed and owns the place along with
his wife, he ought to get the stage. You wouldn’t expect a non-musician
to pour heart, sweat, creativity and $ into a cool place like this
would you. And you wouldn’t expect a musician/owner to feature
live music and not want to play a little. Besides, he is one of the
best singer-songwriters this region has to offer. Country, folk, gospel,
rock or sometimes a unique blend, John’s music is always insightful
and often thought provoking. To listen to a sample of his original
music check out the John’s Music page.
